Under the patronage of Prof. Afaf Basel, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Tanta University, and Prof. Lulwa Abdelwahab, Head of the Community Health Nursing Department, an awareness seminar on “The Negative Effects of Smoking on the Individual and Society” was held today, Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The seminar also addressed methods for quitting smoking.

The event was organized with the participation of the Community Health Nursing Department (Practical Tuberculosis Student Group) under the supervision of Prof. Amal El-Zeftawy, Assoc. Prof. Nahed El-Sahry, Ms. Rehab Wagih, Ms. Manar Mohamed, and Ms. Hadeer El-Sayed, with the involvement of students from the research project under the name “Nursing Center for Community Service and Environmental Development”, in collaboration with the Chest Health Hospital.

The objectives of the seminar were:

• Raising community awareness about the negative effects of smoking on the individual and society.

• Educating participants about prevention methods and smoking cessation.
