About the Department




• This Department focuses on the application of the nursing process and problem-solving method in nursing of critical cases and caring of their families in emergency and critical cases. The course of critical care nursing is concerned with teaching students the responsibilities of a critical care nurse in the medical care provided to the patient and how to deal with advanced technological equipment and environment. This course contains theoretical lectures and practical exercises aimed at the effective application of the principles of critical care nursing in the care of critical cases.

• The Department of Emergency and Critical Care Nursing the Emergency Nursing course for the second year students and the Critical Care Nursing course for the fourth year students. It also has a role in postgraduate studies in the Faculty and teaches the subjects for the Master degree in Critical Care Nursing.

• The Department faculty members and their assistants supervise the training of students in three places: critical cases laboratory, emergency departments and intensive care units at Tanta University Hospitals.
